REBECCA JENNER

OWNER/ FOUNDER

Founder of Calico Decorating, Rebecca trained as a decorative painter before launching Calico in 2007. She specialises in bespoke finishes using a variety of different mediums and loves hand painting kitchens. She’s the friendly voice at the end of the phone and deals with all our administration in the office but still loves to join the team on site and is happiest wielding a paintbrush or trowel. Rebecca loves exploring her creative side by developing new techniques and finishes. She ensures Calico remains at the forefront of the decorating market in the New Forest.

JENNY DAVIES

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Jenny joined Calico in 2018 after completing a BA Hons Degree in Interior Architecture and Design. Her knowledge of colour theory is a huge benefit during our colour consultations, and she also manages our social media accounts. With a keen eye for detail, Jenny specialises in hand‑painted kitchens and furniture. She thrives on creative projects, especially when painting walls or furniture in bold colours, or adding decorative finishes such as metallic paints and plaster effects. As our friendly on‑site supervisor, Jenny makes sure every project runs smoothly. She has trained Tom and Kirstin, and is the one the team look to for guidance — always keeping everyone motivated and inspired.

LISA BENSON

MASTER DECORATOR

Lisa has been with Calico since 2011 and is an invaluable member of the team. She will always make sure a job is completed on time and finished to our high standards. Due to her extensive experience, Lisa has a vast product knowledge and can always find a solution to any problem that may arise. When it comes to prep work, there’s no one better, she will always throw herself into any project and especially loves transforming a really neglected space/ home into something beautiful. She is ever-ready, reliable and keeps not only herself going, but the rest of us too.

TOM POWER

MASTER DECORATOR

Joining Calico in 2021, Tom is the only male on our team and has been a fantastic addition — always friendly, upbeat, and ready to get stuck in. Having completed his apprenticeship with distinction, he has grown from strength to strength.

Tom especially enjoys tackling unique areas, including projects at height. Over time, he has developed a real passion for wallpapering — after completing many advanced wallpaper courses, Tom is now a true expert. He loves helping clients make the most of their chosen wallpaper, suggesting how best to use it within a space to create impact, add texture, or introduce pattern in a way that feels both creative and considered.

He has also developed a love for limewash wall effects, adding to his wide range of specialist decorating skills.

KIRSTIN SAUNDERS

SENIOR DECORATOR

Our newest member of the Calico family, Kirstin joined us in 2022 and has already gained a huge amount of knowledge and experience. Having passed her apprenticeship with distinction, she has quickly become an invaluable member of the team.

Her patience and attention to detail have made her a real asset, particularly when it comes to hand‑painted kitchens. She often works alongside Jenny, travelling across Hampshire and Dorset to transform clients’ kitchens with care and precision.

In addition to her decorating skills, Kirstin can design and paint custom murals for the home — especially perfect for children’s rooms — tailoring layouts, themes, and colour combinations to suit each client. She also enjoys intricate transformations such as ornate fireplaces and faux bookshelves in libraries, and, like many of us at Calico, she loves to see a space come to life with bold or rich colours.

JESSIE

IN LOVING MEMORY

Meet Jessie, the beloved four‑legged member of our Calico family. While she may never have wielded a paintbrush, she had a special gift for inspiring comfort and warmth wherever she went.

From lounging by the desk to greeting clients with her wagging tail, Jessie brought joy to every day and always managed to keep our office light, creative, and full of positive energy. She was truly part of the team, and her presence will forever be missed.

Though Jessie has sadly passed away, the happiness she brought to our lives and to Calico will always remain in our hearts.
